Helen L. Matson, 94, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021.

She was born February 18, 1927, in Eskridge, Kansas, the daughter of Wesley and Mary (Jones) Cross. She graduated from Topeka High School.

Helen was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, of Topeka and was a part of the Lakeside Swingers Square Dancing.

In her youth, Helen enjoyed gardening, square dancing, camping, and spending time with family.

Helen married Wayne L. Matson on September 7, 1946 in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2020.

Survivors include her children, Regina "Reggie" Bain, Stephen (Monica) Matson, Marcia (Joel) Fish, and William Matson; Grandchildren, Robert Stanley, Roseanna Strickland, Ryan Nocktonick, Charley Matson, and Wesley Matson; 14 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 am., Monday, August 2, 2021, at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 N.W. Independence Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66604. A reception will follow the service until 12:30pm at the Parker Price Reception Center. Inurnment will take place at 1:00pm at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association - Topeka 3625 SW 29th St. Suite 102, Topeka, KS 66614.
