Helen I. Couch
Helen Irene Couch, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Aldersgate Village. She was born on June 14, 1928 in Belleville, Kansas to Rudolph J. and Mary M. (Hanzlick) Strumfa.
Helen was a bookkeeper and accountant for many years. She was a past member of TARC Inc. and Helping Hands Humane Society. She was volunteer of the year for both TARC and the Kansas ARC.
She is survived by her son, Marc Alan Couch of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Delphine McKinley Marisek.
Private inurnment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to TARC Inc., 2701 SW Randolph Ave, Topeka, KS 66611, Sheltered Living Inc., 2044 SW Fillmore, Topeka, KS 66604 or Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Road, Topeka, KS 66617. Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
