Helen Frances Spencer Wiseman
Helen Frances Spencer Wiseman, 86, Topeka, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014, at her home at Lexington Park Assisted Living. She was born December 2, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Roe Emerson and Helen Frances (Burton) Spencer.
Helen graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, Missouri, and attended Kansas City Community College. She retired from the Kansas State Department of Agriculture. Helen was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir, served on the session and served as an Elder and Deacon. She was a former member of the P.E.O., Kaw Valley Catbackers, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Helen was married to Dale Eldred Wiseman on February 12, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1998.
Surviving are three daughters: Chris Gustin (Jeff), Lynn Mueller (Mark), and Beth Weishaar (Gary) all of Topeka; a son: Scott Wiseman of Manhattan; and six grandchildren: Rebekah Mueller (Liz), Ashlee Gustin, Tyler Mueller (Brooke), Aubree Gustin, Amanda Weishaar, and Derrick Weishaar. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Robert Spencer and Richard Spencer.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 12, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church. Committal services will be at 2:30 PM, at Vermillion Cemetery in Marshall County.
Helen will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thursday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
