Helen Elma Andrews, 90, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Plaza West. She was born June 22, 1915 in Burlingame, Kansas, the daughter of Orin J. and Nora Ada Peavler Williams.
Helen attended Topeka High School. She worked for the Boys Industrial School in the Dining Room from 1948 until she retired in 1973. She was a member of Elmont United Methodist Church. 50 year member of Union Club.
She married Charles O. Andrews, November 29, 1933 in Oskaloosa. He preceded her in death March 19, 1979.
Survivors include a son, Jim D. Andrews and his wife, Roberta Carpenter Andrews, of Topeka; five grandchildren, Kimberly J. Smith, of Moundridge; Debra A. Huff, Dean R. Andrews, Tina M. Killman and James C. Andrews all of Topeka; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka. Interment will be in Rochester Cemetery.
Mrs. Andrews will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
