Hazel M. Vilander
Mrs. Hazel M. Vilander, 77, Topeka, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at a Topeka, nursing home. She was born May 6, 1926, at Wakefield, the daughter of Ellis and Myrtle Heath Male. She was reared in Wakefield, attended Clay Center High School and graduated from Dover High School in Dover. Mrs. Vilander was a homemaker, an active member of the Rollin Sams Camping Club of Topeka, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Silver Lake. She married Beverly Vilander on March 23, 1946, in Milford. He survives, of the home. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Mike and Linda Vilander, Topeka; a daughter, Lona and David Smith, Everest; a sister, Ruby Hill, Clay Center; three grandchildren, Cara De Los Santos, Everest, Jared Vilander, Manhattan, and Tyler Smith, Maryville, Mo.; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Parker-Price Chapel. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery.
