Hazel Elizabeth Longstaff

Hazel Elizabeth Longstaff, 87, Topeka, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka. She was born Aug. 10, 1916, in Topeka, the daughter of Abraham Harry and Lillie Mae (Osborn) Coffman. She was a Topeka resident all her life. She attended First Assembly of God Church. She worked at Seymours for several years. She later worked for Duckwalls for 16 years before retiring. She married John V. Longstaff on April 18, 1940, in Meriden. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1999. She also was preceded in death by seven brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Donna Reaka, Linda Shaffer and Valorie Pater, all of Topeka; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Burial will be in Penwell Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Longstaff will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, where family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.penwellgabel.com
