Hazel M. Abbott

Hazel M. Abbott, 89, of Topeka, passed away on December 6, 2022.

Hazel was born on August 17, 1933 to Nathan and Ida (Robinson) Brobst at Auburn, Kansas.

Hazel worked as an administrative assistant for Topeka Music for many years.

On September 18, 1952, Hazel married Paul Abbott. Together they had four children.

Hazel enjoyed cooking and baking. Her family would agree that her oatmeal cookies were hands down, the best in the world. She also was a gardener, growing many types of flowers. In her younger years she was an avid bowler and was even a member on the Topeka Women's Bowling Association for a number of years. She was the best grandmother, spoiling all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Hazel is survived by her loving husband, Paul; children, Paul (Gretchen) Abbott, Jr., Chris (David) Wells, Gary (Lynnette) Abbott, and Karen (Terry) Gingrich; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and siblings, Marvin Brobst, Faye Handley, Doryce Moore,Wanda Moore, Paul Brobst, Judy Mchatton, Cheryl Cole, and Linda Whittier.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; 1 granddaughter, 1 great grandson; and 7 siblings.

Visitation will be held at Parker-Price on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Memorial service will follow at 11:30 am.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to TARC and sent in care of Parker-Price Funeral Home.
