Harry Jackson Thornton, 72, Tecumseh, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018.
He was born November 28, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of William and Neatie (Barham) Thornton.
Harry married Ruby Devall on January 29, 1966 at Tecumseh United Methodist Church.
In 1981, Harry and Ruby started H & R Plumbing, Inc., which he remained very active with until his death.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; two children: Tammy (Scott) Wiltz and Bryan Thornton; six grandchildren: Samantha and Joshua Wiltz and Cole, Carlyn, Harrison and Hope Thornton; and three siblings: William (Brenda) Thornton, Dorthy (Gary) Day and Linda (Maurice) Koch.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time on the farm and being with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:45 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. Burial will follow at Overbrook Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tecumseh United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital c/o the funeral home, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608.
