OBITUARY: Harry Lewis Brumbaugh
Harry Lewis Brumbaugh, 81, Silver Lake, died Wed., April 3, 2013. He was born March 31, 1932, in Lincoln County, the son of Harry Wm. and Julia M. (King) Brumbaugh. He graduated from Ada High School in 1951.
Harry retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Silver Lake Am. Legion, Silver Lake Senior Citizens Center, and several camping groups. Harry's family was the pride and joy of his life.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's varied activities and sporting events, as well as playing cards and visiting with friends.
He was married to Marjorie M. Simpson on April 13, 1957, at Salina. Surviving are his wife: Marjorie of the home; 3 daughters: Julie Berger (Laurence) of Everest, Judy Curtis (Jim) and Connie Searcy (Douglas) all of Topeka; a brother: Keith Brumbaugh (Karen) of Ada; 6 sisters: Doris Zaumeyer of Anaheim Hills, CA, Bea Lee (Al) of Allen,TX, Ruth Denno of Topeka, Eileen Powell (Jon) of Fairfax, VA, Lila McClaflin of Tecumseh, and Patricia Sanford of Rough and Ready, CA; 6 grandchildren: Kevin Berger (Staci), Gina Holen (Ryan), Allison Mulberry (Bryan), Colleen Berger, Matthew Searcy, and Mallory Searcy; and a great-granddaughter: Amelia Berger. He was preceded in death by a son: Gregory Lewis Brumbaugh in 1958; his parents; 5 brothers: and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Sat., April 6, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment in Prairie Home Cemetery. Harry will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Fri., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
