Harry Vaughn Lane, 75, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024.
He was born May 16, 1948, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Harry and Lucille (Neiswender) Lane. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1966. He continued his education at Johnson & Wales University.
He proudly served in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1971.
He was a Surveillance Officer at Prairie Band Casino for 16 years.
He enjoyed any and all sports. He loved the Chiefs and Cardinals.
Vaughn cherished his dogs over the years, especially his puppy "Scooter".
He loved going out with his high school buddies on Tuesdays.
Vaughn will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Harry married Lee Ann Barrow on June 25, 2002 in Las Vegas, NV. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Heather (Marc) Vanderveen and Brian Lane; siblings, Vicki (Joe) Renteria, Gary Lane, and Julie (Karl) Werbovetz; grandchildren, Paige Vanderveen and Abby Vanderveen and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to service time. Burial with military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Topeka.
