Harry E. Kahle, 94, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016.
He was born February 13, 1922 in Alma, Kansas, the son of Henry and Hilda (Thowe) Kahle.
Harry farmed most of his life in the Northern Shawnee County. He also was employed by Meriden Co-op Elevator and Allis Chalmers, retiring in 1986.
Harry married Norma Catren on March 3, 1950 at First United Methodist Church in Topeka. She preceded him in death on November 6, 2012. Survivors include two sons, Randal and Darrel Kahle, both of Topeka; and two brothers, Elmer (Mary) Kahle, Topeka and Alvin (Leone) Kahle, Alma, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a half-brother, Henry L. Kahle, Jr; a step-brother, Clyde Butts and step-sister, Virginia Gifford.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Burial will follow in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
Harry will lie in state after 1:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m.
