Harry "Jim" Butler, 86, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021.
Jim was born on February 20, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas to Samuel and Flossie Butler.
He graduated from Seaman High School in 1953. Jim married Virginia Feyh in 1953 in Topeka. Together they had two daughters.
Jim served in the United States Navy as a Seabee from 1952 to 1962. After being honorably discharged, Jim started working for KP&L at Tecumseh Energy Center, where he retired. He then started working with the Topeka VA in 1994 as an Electrician and Grounds Keeper. Jim later retired from working in 2000.
Jim enjoyed tinkering, spending time outside, driving his tractors, and spending time with his pets and family. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother-in-laws Arlen Tappan and Paul Feyh; and sister-in-law Sharon Poole.
He is survived by his loving Wife of 67 years, Virginia Butler; Daughters, Kimberly and Cheryl Butler; Sister, Delores Tappan; brother-in-law Jim (Kathy) Feyh; sister-in-law Barb Feyh; and numerous extended family members.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Parker Price Funeral Home, in Topeka.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Rochester Cemetery, in Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society in Jim's honor and sent in the care of Parker Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608.
