Harold Dean Willes, 90, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020.
He was born June 21, 1929 in Topeka, KS, the son of Charles A. and Helen Esther (Pateman) Willes. He attended Highland Park High School.
Following high school, he joined the United States Marines and served in the Korean War in the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir.
He was employed by Union Pacific as a Switchmen for over 35 years.
Harold married Lois Langston in Topeka, Kansas.
Harold was a proud Marine, gun enthusiast, and loved reading and watching Westerns with his son-in-law Danny.
Harold is survived by his four children, Pam (Mitch), Debbie (Danny), Patty (Jason) and Mike (Teri); grandchildren, Tana, Kelly, Nikki, and Brittany; great-grandchildren, James and Quentin; brother Lloyd Willes; and niece, Kitty. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lois; brother, Bert Willes; sisters, Dorothy Pearson, Marian Korup, Midge Miller, Lucille Boles, Doris Blow, and Virginia Caudill; and nephew, Rick.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 from 7:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Parker-Price Funeral Home.
