OBITUARY: Harold F. "Mutt" Markham
Harold F. "Mutt" Markham, 76, Topeka, went to be with God on Mon., Nov. 6, 2006. He was the youngest of six children born to Charles and Elizabeth (Turley) Markham. He was born near Westmoreland on Aug. 22, 1930.
At the age of nine he moved to Onaga and lived with Galen and Beulah Fields until he went on his own at 16. Mutt wondered the United States working various jobs. He started working at Fleming's on July 31, 1951, and retired from there on Jan. 31, 1993. He worked on vehicles, especially Cougars, and sold them.
Mutt married Theodosia Cattan on May 20, 1950. They had five children: Gaylon, Ricky, Jack, Pat, and Diana Kay Timmons and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jack preceded him in death. He has two older brothers Francis, Topeka and Jim, Napa, CA. He was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Fri., Nov. 10, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. Interment will be in Rochester Cemetery. Mutt will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 9, 2006, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
