Harold E. "Bud" Peck, 62, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014.
He was born September 24, 1951 in Topeka, KS, the son of Harold C. and Delilah Lee (Hainline) Peck. He was a graduate of Topeka High School.
Mr. Peck owned and operated several auto body repair shops and most recently worked for the State of Kansas.
He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church and was a First Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 13012 in Topeka.
Harold married Linda Salisbury. They were divorced. He later married Doris "Janie" Reding in June of 1991. She preceded him in death in 2006. Survivors include two step-sons, Cooper (Dawn) Roberts, Auburn, KS and Grady (Cindy) Kirkpatrick, Rulo, NE and three other step-children, Ben, Tammy and Chris Salisbury all of Topeka; four step-grandchildren, Jacob and Josi Roberts, Ashley and Alex Kirkpatrick; a step-great-granddaughter, Kay Rhodd; his step-mother, Margaret Peck, Topeka; three siblings, Linda (Tom) Garrett, Mary McCurry and Becky (Gary) Cox, all of Topeka; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Jack.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 2700 SE Virginia Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at the Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. Harold will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, where a parish prayer service will be at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends following the prayer service until 8 p.m. Thursday.
