Harold David Griffin, 76, Grantville, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Midland Hospice House.
David was born June 24, 1939 in Topeka, the son of Harold D. and Hulda (Fay) Griffin. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1955 and attended Washburn University.
He was a painter and most recently employed by Painters Union Local #96 as their Business Agent, retiring in 2002.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
David married Carol Anne Arnold on September 7, 1990. She survives. Other survivors include daughters, Stephanie (Sheldon) Massey, Rhonda Griffin, Yvonne (Duke) Anderson, all of Topeka; grandchildren, Griffin Moore, Ryan Griffin, Jada Welch; and step-children, Annalisa Peper, Florida, and Jeff McClain, Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-daughter, Kimberly McClain.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Burial will follow at the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
