Harold Milton Beems
Harold Milton Beems, 95, Topeka, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka. He was born September 9, 1921, at Holton, the son of Harold Ross and Gladys Violet (Hull) Beems.
Milton and his wife, Marjorie, had owned and operated Beems Electric. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, Jayhawk Area Council and had received the Order of the Arrow; the Naval Mine Warfare Association; and the Independent Electrical Contractors Association.
He was married to Marjorie E. Zinn on March 29, 1956, at Grantville. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Berla Armstrong; and two brothers, Richard and Burwell.
Surviving are five children: William Beems of Albuquerque, NM, Linda Burgen of Eskridge, Julia Miller of Denver, CO, Nancy Seifert of St. Peters, MO, and Mary Carson of White Hall, AR; eleven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 20, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Military honors will follow at Rochester Cemetery, 1200 NW Menninger Road, Topeka.
