OBITUARY: Harlan Richard Middendorf
Harlan Richard MIddendorf, 87, Topeka, died Tues., Sept. 13, 2011, at Lexington Park. He was born Aug. 14, 1924, at Hiawatha, the son of Emil E. and Freida L. (Puvogel) Middendorf. Harlan was a US Army WWII Veteran. He was a member of IBEW for over 55 years and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was married to Dorothy F. Holm on Jan 30, 1962, in Lyndon. She preceded him in death on Aug. 27, 1999. Surviving are his siblings: Ruth McDaniel and Melvin Middendorf both of Topeka, Norma Barnett, Betty Underwood, and Shirley Faulwell all of Overland Park, and Delores Lehmkuhl of Holton; and many nieces and nephews. Committal services will be at 11:00 AM, Fri., Sept. 16, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth Avenue, Topeka. Harlan will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thurs., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, Fri.
