ALLEN MYERS
Allen J. Meyers, 87, formerly of Topeka, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at a Sabetha nursing home.
Mr. Meyers worked for the city of Topeka Water Department for 28 years before he retired in march 1977. He was treasurer and manager of the Topeka City Employees Credit Union.
He was born March 26, 1915, in Morrill, the son of Allen David and Ruth Ellen Hoover Meyers. He was reared in Morrill and moved to Topeka in October 1944. He moved to Sabetha from Topeka in 1994.
Mr. Meyers was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He married Helen Virginia Johnson on Sept. 17, 1940, in Hiawatha. She died Oct. 7, 1986.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha. Mr. Meyers will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary, where visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. A procession will go to the cemetery at 2 p.m.
