OBITUARY: Grace Marie Child Miller
Grace Marie Child Miller, 90, Hoyt, passed away Wed., Sept. 8, 2010, at Rossville Health Care and Rehabilitation. She was born in rural Topeka, on Feb. 9, 1920, to Florence (Peters) Child (1977) and Douglas C. Child, Sr. (1957). She graduated from Seaman High School and was an LPN at Santa Fe Hospital and the Medical Arts Building. She loved animals and helping neighbors. Grace was married to Donald Emons Miller (05/13/1928 – 11/14/1985) at Atchison, on Dec. 8, 1966. She was also preceded in death by her parents , and two brothers, Douglas C. Child, Jr. (1996) and Robert M. Child (2009). Grace is survived by a sister: M. Blanche Child; nieces: Connie (Fred) Waller, Janelle (Harold) Gibbons, and Debra (Doug) Weaver; nephews: Jim (Beth) Child, Don (Connie) Child, Dan (Clara) Child, and Robert (Jodie) Child, Jr.; and a sister-in-law: Mary J. Child. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Mon., Sept. 13, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment in Prairie Home Cemetery. Grace will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sun., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
