Goldie Nell Logan, 93, of Topeka, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 18, 2013.
Goldie was born July 2, 1920 in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Frederick Austin Parker and Lottie (Sloan) Parker.
On June 24, 1937 in La Porte City, Iowa, Goldie married William Everett "Bill" Logan. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1987.
Goldie worked for Harold Doty at The Kansas Sewing Machine Company for over 20 years. Goldie also worked at the Post Office in Bauerfelds in North Topeka. Goldie was a very talented seamstress.
Goldie's husband, William Everett "Bill" Logan, owned and operated Phillips 66 Service Station at 3rd and Quincy in 1945 and later at 2808 E. 6th St. he was an avid racing enthusiast. Goldie and Everett had a wonderful life together.
Goldie was a member American Legion Post No 400 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include five children, Larry Logan, Ozawkie, KS, Judy Fisher, Peggy Flott, Ellen Ross, all of Topeka and Debbie Whitfield, McLouth, KS; 12 grandchildren, Robin Ramsey, Rhonda Cook, Russell Logan, Randa Davy, Michael Freeby, Pamela Hazzard, Jerry Flott, Terry Flott, Kerry Flott, Jessi Ross, Johanna Ross and Scott Lutz; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Horsley, Kansas City, KS and an aunt, Betty Severtson, Topeka.
A funeral ceremony will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St #100, Topeka, KS 66614.
