Goldie M. Falley, 100, Manhattan, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at her home.
She was born in Kenasaw, NE February 11, 1906 the daughter of Frank and Della Currier. Mrs. Falley was a homemaker. She enjoyed making quilts for her family and reading. She was a longtime resident of Manhattan, Kansas.
She married Joseph D. Falley in Lincoln, NE January 27, 1921. He preceded her in death April 22, 1983. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Patrick, Michael and Melvin Falley, one daughter Marjorie Mackender and one granddaughter, Judith Falley.
Survivors include: four sons, Lewis Falley, Augusta, KS; Wayne E. Falley, Gulf Port, MS; Joseph D. Falley, Jr., Manhattan; George Falley, Manhattan; four daughters, Maxine Graziano, Pulaski, TN; Mary Frost, Topeka; Della Thomas, Manhattan; Waunetta Mackender, Manhattan; 26 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 17 great great-grandchildren and 2 great great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. Mrs. Falley will lie in state after 12:00 noon Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Manhattan Public Library or the Flint Hills Bread Basket both in Manhattan.
