Gloria Jean Harrington, 65, of Meriden, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013.
She was born November 14, 1947 in Marysville, KS, the daughter of Louis Dale and Dorothy Imogene (Davis) Meinecke. She was a graduate of Summerfield High School, Summerfield, KS and Clark's School of Business in Topeka.
Mrs. Harrington was employed by the State of Kansas. She was an Avon Sales Representative, where she was a member of the President's Club for 23 years. She also was an award winning cake decorator.
She was a member of Summerfield Lutheran Church and later a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Calvary Lutheran Church.
Gloria married Robert Alan Harrington on November 7, 1970 in Marysville, KS. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Aric R. (Jennifer) Harrington and Brad G. (Brandi) Harrington; a daughter, Shawna R. (Aaron) Claspill, all of Topeka; five grandchildren, Savanah, Meagan, Shylee, Alexis, and Maysn; two sisters, Karen (Ron) Keefover, Topeka and Lou Ann (Wayne) McRoberts, Merced, CA; and a brother, Dale (Patty) Meinecke, Beattie, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.
A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Calvary Lutheran Church, 4211 NW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66617. Cremation will follow the ceremony. Gloria will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church or to Midland Hospice Care of Kansas, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
