Glenn W. "Scip" Boaz, Jr., 81, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015.
He was born May 3, 1934, in Topeka, the son of Glenn W. and Floye Maxine (Magee) Boaz, Sr. He was a graduate of Topeka High School. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Scip was employed by the State of Kansas, retiring in 1997.
Mr. Boaz attended Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene, Topeka.
Scip married Betty M. (Grimes) Boaz on June 24, 1975 in Colorado Springs, CO and would have celebrated their 40th anniversary. She survives of the home. Other survivors include four children, Darren (Lyndy) Boaz, Topeka, Timothy (Miwa) Boaz, Tokyo, Japan, Scott (Amy) Boaz, Raleigh, NC and Jennifer (Jason) Hildebrandt, Topeka; six grandchildren, Evan Adkins, Lily and Sidney Boaz, Elizabeth, Sarah and Katherine Hildebrandt; a brother, Gary (Carole) Boaz, Topeka; and two sisters, Anita (Jack) Robinson, Imperial, MO and Peggy (Chuck) Calhoon, Berryton.
Scip enjoyed traveling, music, art, photography, reading and yard work.
Cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka.
A visitation is scheduled for family and friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the Rochester Cemetery, Topeka.
