Glenn Roy Haid
Glenn Roy Haid, 77, Meriden, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at his home.. He was born January 12, 1937, in Topeka, the son of John Wesley and Emily Martha (Fields) Haid.
Glenn was reared at Newman in Jefferson County and attended school there. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Operators Union, Local 101. He was active in farming and working on his vehicles. He enjoyed camping with his family.
Glenn was married to DeLores Rae Meggison on June 30, 1957 at Topeka.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years: DeLores (Meggison) Haid; children: Julie Haid (Donald), Sherrie Calvin (Mike), and Steven Haid (Tina) all of Meriden; siblings: Donna Moore and Clyde Haid both of Topeka; four grandchildren: Amber Haid of Meriden, Shawn Haid (Amber) of Florida, Matthew Haid (Kayla) of Meriden, and Joshua Haid (Hannah) of Meriden; and five great-grandchildren: MaKayla Penry, Ashton Grahem, Rylan Haid, Cale Haid, and Easton Haid all of Meriden.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda J. Haid; his parents; and siblings: John J. Haid, Delbert Haid, Elton Haid, Ronnie Haid, Edna DeMotte, and Elsie Kopp.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 15, 2014, at Prairie Home Cemetery, N.W. 35th and Menoken Road, Topeka.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, at Prairie Home Cemetery.
