OBITUARY: Glenn Harold Woolaway
Glenn Harold Woolaway, 77, passed away Mon., Jan. 24, 2011, at his home in Silver Lake. He was born Sept. 5, 1933, at Oskaloosa, KS, the son of Roscoe and Minnie (Kley) Woolaway. He graduated from Valley Falls High School; worked 37 years for Kansas Gas Service Co.; retiring from Westar. Glenn served in the Army for 2 years. He was a member of Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene; Topeka North Post # 400 of the American Legion; and Kansas Old Time Fiddlers, Pickers, and Singers. Glenn married Mildred Garman in 1954, she survives. Surviving are their 3 sons: Robert (Cathy) Woolaway of Decatur, IL, Steven (Debra) Woolaway and Allen (Nicol) Woolaway all of Topeka; a daughter: Sheryl (Robert) Garrett of Mooresville, NC; 5 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; and 2 sisters: Delores Wehking of Wichita and Maxine Tolle of Olathe. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thurs., Jan. 27, 2011, at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene. Interment in Prairie Home Cemetery. Glenn will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
