OBITUARY: Glen M. "John" Lindsey
Glen Martin "John" Lindsey, 69, Topeka, died Sun., Aug. 6, 2006, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born Nov. 23, 1936, at Topeka the son of Glen Theodore and Mary Ann (Schuyler) Lindsey.
John was graduated from Highland Park High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at various grocery stores, retiring from Holton Country Mart in Sept., 2004; he then worked part-time at Auburn Apple Market. John was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Quail Unlimited, N.R.A. and American Pool Players Association.
He was married to Colleen Henderson on March 18, 1957. They were divorced in Oct., 1978. She survives. His companion from 1985 to 1998, Joletta Hazzard, also survives.
Surviving are a daughter: Angela Ann Simons and her son, Shane Simons, both of Topeka; a son: Derron Lindsey and his wife, Tammy, and their two daughters, Hayley Lindsey and Jordan Lindsey, all of Topeka; and his mother: Mary Ann Schuyler-Marian of Saratoga Springs, NY.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m., Fri., Aug. 11, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. Interment of cremains will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Fri., at the funeral chapel.
