Glen A. Boyers, 66, of Carbondale, passed away on May 11, 2022 at his home.
He was born on January 16, 1956 to Arthur and Irene (Roath) Boyers in Topeka, Kansas.
Glen attended Topeka High School. He married Jayme McClenny on March 6, 1976 in Topeka. They later divorced. Later he married the love of his life, Joyce Burkhart, she preceded him in death on September 24, 2006. He started his career working in plumbing, heating and air conditioning, including designing and installing solar heating systems. Later he worked with automotive machine work. Glen also did long-haul trucking and enjoyed taking his daughter all over the United States. He also received his Hazardous Material license for hauling fuel locally so that he could be home with his wife, Joyce.
He loved to build race cars, assembling and shooting black powder guns with his best friend Lon Lewis, fishing with his daughter and his friends Lee Reser and James "Mac" McClenny. Glen was very artistic, making enamel jewelry, etc. He loved to be outdoors and make friends with the wild life (especially the squirrels) and his pets. Glen was very handy and could fix anything and everything. Everyone will remember Glen for his funny jokes, his stories, and his pranks.
Glen is survived by his children, Rachael Thompson, Brandi McCracken Klunk, and Stacy McCracken Kimerer; grandchildren, Lindsey Klunk, Katie Klunk, Kenny Newman, Kelsea Paul, Ewan Thompson, Elliott Thompson; great grandchildren, Lochlan Paul, Barrett Paul, and Autumn Paul; brother, Craig Boyers; Nephews, Cameron Schenk and Clinton Boyers; and niece, Emily Boyers Baughn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, and both of his parents.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Parker Price Funeral Home.
Inurnment will follow at a later date in Missouri.
