Glen Sylvester Bayless, Jr. of Topeka, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at his home.
He was born on May 30, 1949, to Glen Sylvester Bayless Sr. and Rosa Mae Gilbert Bayless in Topeka, KS.
Glen graduated from Highland Park High School in 1967. After graduation he attended Washburn University and worked for the State of Kansas where he retired.
On January 12, 1973, he married Joanna Sue Copeland. Together they lived in Topeka and Perry, Kansas and raised their children, Glen S. Bayless III, Tiffany J Reed, Racheal C. Vargas, and Aaron Bayless.
He attended Rev City church in Lawrence, KS. Glen was a car enthusiast, but most importantly Glen loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his spouse Joanna Bayless, children; Glen S. Bayless III, Tiffany J Reed (Jason Reed), Racheal C. Vargas, and Aaron Bayless (April Bayless), grandchildren; Jordan Hernandez (Rebecca Hernandez), Aubrie Reed, Miya Vargas (Mario Gabriel), Connor W. Reed, Amora Vargas, Mason Bayless, Lacy Bayless, Luke Bayless, and Jared Bayless, great grandchildren; Bentley Hernandez, RaAlynn Cruz, Xander Hernandez, and Masai Gabriel Vargas, and siblings; Earl Bayless (Myrna Bayless) and Rosa Bayless.
He was preceded in death by parents Glen Sylvester Bayless Sr. and Rosa Mae Gilbert Bayless, brother Charles Bayless, and sister Pamela Bayless.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
