Glen Clay Allen was born in Harper, Kansas on March 17, 1940 and passed away June 10, 2009 in Topeka, Kansas after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Judy A. Allen of the home in Meriden, Kansas; daughter Leslie R. Garven of Overland Park, Kansas; two sons Michael S. Allen and James Allen, both of Wichita, Kansas; two grandsons Glen T. Garven and William M. Garven, both of Overland Park, Kansas; sister Judy Ellis and husband Rob of Wichita, Kansas; Chasen, Tricia, Madeline, Max Nugen of Belton, Missouri, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Glen attended Wichita State University and worked for KDOT for 40 years. After retiring from KDOT, Glen worked part-time for HNTB, and engineering and architectural firm in Overland Park, Kansas. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He will be missed.
A visitation and celebration of Glen's life will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14 at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for the WCC/Royal Family Kids Camp, 2001 N Maize Road, Wichita, Kansas 67212, a camp for abused and neglected children.
