OBITUARY: Mrs. Gladys E. Shaw
Mrs. Gladys Evelyn Shaw, 89, Topeka, died Sat., Aug. 30, 2008, at Aldersgate Village. She was born June 5, 1919, at Rogersville, MO, the daughter of Bert and Theresa (Givens) Hacker.
Gladys was baptized in the Springhill Baptist Church in Rogersville, MO.
She was married to Nova Vane Shaw on Nov. 2, 1936, at Springfield, MO. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1984. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons: Theodore Hacker and Michael Shaw; a daughter: Cora Gutchenritter; 4 grandchildren: Deborah Sue Senne, Laura Ann Shaw, Shannan Shaw, and David Shaw; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Surviving are a daughter: Deborah Campbell of Topeka; 5 sons: Bud Shaw of Ozawkie, Donnie Shaw of Tecumseh, Jerry Shaw of Topeka, Larry Shaw of Topeka; and David Shaw of Topeka; a brother: Red Hacker of Rogersville, MO; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Private family graveside services will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Newman. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Heart of America Chapter, 515 S. Kansas Ave., # B-2, Topeka, KS 66603 or American Diabetes Association, 837 South Hillside, Wichita, KS 67211.
