OBITUARY: Gilbert Eugene Tibbits
Gilbert Eugene Tibbits, 84, Topeka died Sat., Dec. 10, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born April 4, 1921, at Junction City the son of Earl O. and Marie L. (Peavler) Tibbits.
Gilbert was a self-employed truck driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia M. (Pusch) Tibbits.
Surviving are 2 daughters: Patricia Sipp of Topeka and Jean Whitebread of Independence, MO; 3 sons: Rodney, Alan, and Mark Tibbits all of Topeka; 3 brothers: Derrald, Donald, and Raymond Tibbits all of Topeka; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wed., Dec. 14, 2005, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Gilbert will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
