Georgia E. Watkins, 77, Topeka, died Sunday, April 24, 2005 at St. Francis Health Center. She was born Dec. 13, 1927 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Leonard Frederick and Ethel Daphane Andler Brandt.
Georgia graduated from Wetmore High School and Clarks Business School. She worked for Merchants National Bank for 30 years. Georgia was an active member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She volunteered five days a week at Indian Creek and Pleasant Hill Elementary Schools for the past 13 years. She loved spending time with her family and being outdoors.
She married Claud I. Watkins April 17, 1955 in Wetmore, Kansas. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Cindy Eder and her husband Tom, Pam Broadbent and her husband Brian, a son Curt Watkins and his wife Karen all of Topeka; three granddaughters, Erin, Amy, and Andrea Broadbent; and two grandsons, Matthew and Michael Eder.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wed., April 27, 2005 at Pleasant Hill Un. Methodist Church. Burial will be in Wetmore Cemetery.
Mrs. Watkins will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel 245 NW Independence Ave. where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Pleasant Hill Un. Methodist Church, 5919 NW Glenwood Dr., Topeka, KS 66618.
