Georgia M. "Sally" Cann
Georgia "Sally" M. Cann, 88, Topeka, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at her home. She was born Oct. 13, 1915, in Scranton, the daughter of William E. and Edith Anne Nelson York. Mrs. Cann was a homemaker. She married William John Cann Sr. on July 15, 1937, in Topeka. He died Nov. 6, 1991. Mrs. Cann also was preceded in death by a son, William John Cann Jr., in May 1964. Survivors include three daughters, Gladys M. OHandlen, Topeka, Johnna Mae Young, Tacoma, Wash., and Kathy C. Volenas, Omaha, Neb.; three sons, Frank D. Green, Valley Falls, and Larry E. Cann and James H. Cann, both of Topeka; two sisters, Emma A. York, Topeka, and Ruby E. Prim, Scranton; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Cann will lie in state at the mortuary after 3 p.m. Thursday, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 S.W.
