George William Foust, 88, of Topeka, passed away Friday, December 9, 2011.
He was born August 19, 1923 in Topeka, the son of William K. and Harriet C. (Gordon) Foust. He was a graduate of Bucklin High School, Bucklin, KS.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Mr. Foust was employed by Hallmark Cards, retiring in 1985.
George married Ramona L. Horton on February 22, 1947 in Bucklin. She survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Linda (Stutz) Plaisted, Georgetown Mass; his son, David (Lynelle) Foust, Topeka; 2 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. George will lie in state after 2 p.m., Monday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care of Kansas, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
