George L. Reamer, 82, of Silver Lake, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015.
He was born December 29, 1932 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Harry Lewis and Alice T. (Grosch) Reamer. He was a 1950 graduate of Silver Lake High School.
George owned and operated Reamer Dairy Distributing and farmed raising melons and sweet corn.
George married Doris A. Heideman on February 24, 1952 in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include three sons, Dennis Reamer, Burlingame, KS, Kenneth (Colleen) Reamer, Delia, KS and Jeff (Sherri) Reamer, Silver Lake, KS; 11 grandchildren; 12great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Ann Davis, Gatesville, TX and Linda Burnett, Salina, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carol Ann Rouviere on June 18, 2003; and three sisters, Martha Root, Maxine Bixby and Carolyn Bradley.
A funeral ceremony will be 1 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka. George will lie in state after 1 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m.
