George Mabon Jr., 90, Topeka, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mr. Mabon had worked for Morrill's and retired from Ohse Meats, where he had worked as a meat packer.
He was born Oct. 5, 1912, in Osage County, to George Mabon Sr. and Katherine Hall Mabon. He was a lifelong Topeka resident.
Mr. Mabon was a member of Grace Bible Church and a former member of the Moose Lodge.
He married Jessie O. Robinson on April 23, 1945, in Lawrence. She died on Jan. 24, 2001.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Mabon, Wakarusa; three stepdaughters, Sharon Johnson, Fairfax, Va., Jean Anticoli, Clarksville, Md., and April "Velma" Mills, Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Parker-Price Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Mabon will lie in state at the mortuary after 3 p.m. Thursday.
