George Henry Cook, 68, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014.
He was born October 26, 1946 in Topeka, the son of George Harold and Frances Marie (McCarthy) Cook. He was a graduate of Highland Park High School.
Mr. Cook was an automobile mechanic for various garages in Topeka.
He was a Stock Car driver, racing at the Topeka Raceway and Mid-America Fairgrounds from 1970 to 1976.
Survivors include two sisters, Marie Cook and Corrine Harris; two brothers, Robert E. Cook and Donald "Donnie" Cook, all of Topeka; and several nieces and nephews.
George was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be 4-6 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Highland Heights Christian Church, 2930 SE Tecumseh Rd, Tecumseh, KS. Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, Topeka is assisting the family. Private inurnment will be at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka.
