George Patrick Frisbie
GRANTVILLE - George Patrick Frisbie, 85, Grantville, died Monday, April 26, 2004, at his home in Grantville. He was born Nov. 7, 1918, in Grantville, the son of George "Jack" and Dorothy Patrick Frisbie. He graduated from Meriden High School in the class of 1935. He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Frisbie worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. as a foreman for more than 36 years. He was a member of Meriden Lodge No. 236 A.F.&A.M., North Post No. 400 of the American Legion, VFW, and Loyal Order of the Moose No. 555. He participated in the Moose Wednesday morning poker group and Grantville and Perry United Methodist churches. He was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Frisbie; and a sister, Katherine Everett. Survivors include two daughters, Julie Frisbie and Judy Roberts, both of Grantville; two sisters, Anne Brunton, Perry, and Charlotte Tryon, Marysville; two grandchildren, Ryan S. Roberts and Kelley Roberts-Lincoln, both of Topeka; and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Roberts, Topeka. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grantville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Grantville Cemetery. Mr. Frisbie will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson County Historical Society, Old Jefferson Town, Oskaloosa, 66066, or Kaw Valley Quail Unlimited, sent in care of Becky Wise, 13684 82nd Street, Oskaloosa, Kan., 66066
