Gentra Elizabeth Loyd, 42, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, December 30, 2019 in Topeka, Kansas.
Gentra was born on February 19, 1977 in Dodge City, the daughter of Darrell and Jean Imm Loyd. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1995 and later graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor's degree in business, pursuing a career in assisted services caring for the elderly.
Gentra loved Pooh Bear and had quite a collection of memorabilia, the family will always remember their trip to Disneyworld. Gentra also enjoyed genealogy, attending concerts, and cheering on her favorite team – the Kansas City Chiefs.
Gentra had a loving personality with a strong and fighting spirit. She would want her friends and family not to be sad that she is gone, but to find comfort in knowing that she fought the good fight and is now at peace.
Gentra is survived by her son, Austin Loyd; parents, Darrell and Jean Loyd; brothers, Jeremy Loyd and Nick Loyd; and many other beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jeffery Loyd and Tracy Loyd; maternal grandparents, Ray and Joanne Imm; and paternal grandparents, Roy and Dora Loyd.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Rochester Cemetery, 1200 NW Menninger Road. Visitation will be on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave.
