Genevieve Irene Ellis
Genevieve Irene Ellis, 96, Topeka, KS, died Sunday, January 19, 2014. She was born November 23, 1917, at Bushong, the daughter of Norman and Mildred Dennis.
She had lived at Council Grove, Blue Rapids, Topeka, and Okmulgee, OK, before returning to Topeka in 2003. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and the Elks in Okmulgee.
Genevieve was married to Elmer J. Ellis on November 15, 1939, at Girard. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1987.
Surviving are two sons: Jay Ellis (Nola) and James Ellis (Carol) all of Topeka; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren .
Graveside services will be at 1:30 PM, Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Okmulgee Cemetery, Oklahoma. Genevieve will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wednesday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
