OBITUARY: Gaylord Leon Auwarter
Gaylord Leon Auwarter, 66, Topeka died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005 at his home. He was born March 17, 1939 at Emporia the son of Kenneth Lyle and Sabre Etta (Scott) Auwarter.
Gaylord was a mechanic for the City of Topeka for 30 years before retiring in 1998. He was retired from the Kansas Army National Guard. Gaylord was a member of The American Legion and Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc.
He was married to Linda Louise Zayac on April 22, 1967 at Topeka.
Surviving are his wife, Linda, of the home; a daughter: Rebecca Collom, Topeka; a son, Kenneth Auwarter, Topeka; a sister, Leota Allen, Madison; and two grandchildren: Dylan Collom and Kelsey Collom.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. The Kansas Army National Guard will conduct military honors at Prairie Home Cemetery.
Gaylord will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
