Gayla Rayls, 75, Topeka, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Gayla was born September 25, 1948 in Salina, the daughter of Daniel and Blanche (Pratt) Smith.
She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1966 and attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX.
She was employed as an LPN with the Colmery O'Neil VA Medical Center for over 30 years.
She attended Faith Family Life Center for many years.
Gayla married Donald E. Rayls on April 13, 1984 in Topeka. He died January 17, 2021. Survivors include sons, Joshua Douglas, Jonathan (Lindsey) P. Douglas; stepchildren, Shannon (Todd) Zeilinger and Donald (Kristy) E. Rayls, and several grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private family inurnment will be in the Lynn Creek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society
