Gary Ray Wilson, 72, of Topeka passed away, Tuesday, October 29, 2024. He was born September 4, 1952 in Lakin, Kansas to Harold E. and Mary Wilson.
He met the love of his life, Debbie and they were married on December 26, 1981 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka. They were blessed to share nearly 43 years together.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie D. Wilson of Topeka; daughters Nicole Martin and husband Daniel of San Tan Valley, AZ and Heather Wilson and companion Chris of Faith, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; and his sister, Sheila Wilson of Pueblo, Colorado. Preceding him in death are his parents, and two brothers, Elmer Wilson and David Wilson.
Gary had a very loud recognizable contagious laugh which many people love and remember. He never met a stranger. Loved to eat Bar-B-Que, and was well known for his ability to smoke meat. He loved the time he was able to spend with family and friends and had a great love for his grandchildren and his dog Belle.
He worked mainly as a diesel mechanic thru his life, but was good at working on anything with a motor. He loved a good hot rod.
Gary will be greatly missed not only by his wife, daughters and spouses, grandchildren and family, but by the many friends he made over the years.
Cremation is planned. A celebration of his life will be held and announced at a later time.
