Galen D. Rosenberger, 77, of Topeka passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 29, 2009.
Galen was born April 28, 1931 in Hiawatha, KS to Milton and Cyrilla (Curtis) Rosenberger. He was a lifetime resident of Topeka and attended Topeka High School. Galen served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 18 years of service in 1975 from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Topeka VFW and the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his two children, Janice K Wolfley and Bob (Debbie) Rosenberger, of Topeka, four grandchildren, Dan and Adam Rosenberger, Jamie McCabe, and Taylor Wolfley, all of Topeka, three great-grandchildren, Allison, Cale, and Cole Rosenberger, a brother, Milton (LewisAnn) Rosenberger of Shawnee, KS, and a sister, Joan (Thomas) Woodmas of Lyndon, KS. Galen is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, who passed away in 2005.
Mr. Rosenberger will lie in state after 2:00 pm, with visitation between 6:00 and 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 1st, at Penwell Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 2nd, 10:00 am, at Westlawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy.
