OBITUARY: Gregory "Scott" Orrison

Gregory "Scott" Orrison, 48, Topeka, passed away Mon., Sept. 18, 2006, at his home following a valiant battle with a long illness.. He was born Jan. 7, 1958, at Kansas City, MO, the son of Kenneth Alvin and Gwendolyn Audrey (Cosper) Orrison.

Scott was a talented auto mechanic and race car engine builder with a passion for auto racing. He was also an experienced horseman and had a black belt in Jujitsu. He was a member of Central Park Christian Church.

He leaves behind his ex-wife and best friend, Debbie Johnston, stepdaughter, Jessica Johnston, brother-in-law and dear friend, Danny Johnston, in laws, Roger and Beverly Johnston, all of Topeka, KS. He is also survived by his mother, Gwendolyn Maher, sister and brother-in-law, Steve and Sandy Briggs of Kansas City, brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth M. and Diana Orrison of Tonganoxie, KS; and several nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth A. Orrison, and younger brother, Daniel B. Maher.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Fri., Sept. 22, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence, Topeka. Interment will be in Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont. Scott will not lie in state. To leave a special message for the family online, visit www.PenwellGabel.com.
