Frederick "Bill" Rayburn, 59, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013.
OBITUARY: Frederick William "Bill" Rayburn
Frederick William "Bill" Rayburn, 59, Topeka, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at his home due to end stage renal failure. He was born January 6, 1954, in Topeka, the son of Dr. Frederick Walker and Carolyn B. (Barfknecht) Rayburn.
Bill graduated from Topeka High School in 1972, attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska, and graduated from Washburn University in 1982. He was employed as a drivers' license examiner for the State of Kansas in Dodge City and Topeka for 22 years.
He was a member of the Countryside United Methodist Church, where he was an active member of the singles' group.
Bill was a Past Master of Orient Lodge # 51, AF & AM; a member of Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies having received the Knight Commander Court of Honor; and a member of Arab Shrine.
He was an avid tennis player, having participated in various tournaments throughout his life. He was a member of the Topeka High School and Doane College tennis teams. He had a passion for the game of tennis and currently was a member of the Topeka Tennis Association.
He is survived by two sisters: Margaret Rayburn Kramar (Tad) of Big Springs, Kansas and Marion A. Taylor (Tim) of Lenexa, Kansas; nieces: Valerie Volkmer of Overland Park and Hayley Volkmer of Kansas City, Missouri; and nephews: Benjamin Good of Topeka, and Lane Kramar and Tristan Kramar both of Big Springs, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Spenser Thomas Good.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 12, 2013, at Countryside United Methodist Church Chapel, 3221 SW Burlingame Road, Topeka.
