OBITUARY: Fred Rinner
Fred Rinner, 78, Topeka, died Sat., May 19, 2012, at Midland Hospice House. He was born March 15, 1934, the son of George and Edna (Retter) Rinner. Fred graduated from Seaman High School in 1952. After serving two years in the Army where he was stationed in Korea he graduated from Washburn University. He worked for the Social Security Disability 30 years, first for the State of Kansas and then for the Federal Gov't in K.C, MO. He retired in 1995, returning to Topeka. In June 1957 he married Diana Yocum, they have one son, Tim. Surviving are his wife, Diana, of the home; son: Tim and his wife, Jessica, of Portland, OR; two grandchildren: Abby and Neil; siblings: Mary Lou Weeks of Cameron, MO, and Dean Rinner of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Bill. Fred was a member of Seaman Congregational Church where he had served on different committees through the years. Fred delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years, which he considered a very important part of his retirement. He was honored by receiving the 2010 Reuter Award. Memorial services will be at 1:30 PM, Fri., June 1, 2012, at Seaman Congregational Church, 2036 NW Taylor, Topeka. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:30 PM. Private burial will follow the service.
