Fred J. Evers
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary for Fred J. Evers, 80, Topeka, who died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at a Topeka hospital.
He was born July 13, 1922, in Topeka, to Henry Frederick and Myrtle Annetta Woods Evers. He attended Topeka High School and spent most of his life in Topeka. He was a milk hauler for Mid Am Corp. for nearly 50 years before he retired in 1987.
He married Dorothy Wardell on Sept. 18, 1942, in Topeka. She survives. A son, Joseph K. Evers, died in 1998.
Other survivors include a son, Jim Evers, Lawrence; two daughters, Sheryl Evers, Lawrence, and Jeanne Evers, San Jose, Calif.; two sisters, Anna Pufahl and Geneva Sorber, both in Topeka; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Evers will lie in state after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
