Frank E. "Cowboy" Webb, 90, Topeka, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019.
He was born May 12, 1928, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Joe and Lillie (Reser) Webb.
On Septermber 4, 1948, Frank married Jessie May Claypole in Topeka. To their union, they had seven children. They were later divorced.
Frank worked many of jobs starting his career at Skaggs IGA Store in 1942 dipping ice cream. During high school, a gentleman by the name of Fred Bayless taught Frank how to slaughter butcher and many a night you would find him at the butcher house on the farm or at Hentzler Locker, Pine Grove Locker or even Wilson Turkey Farm. He raised a lot of hogs and cattle and every now and then had a good horse or mules and his goats. Frank worked in the Engineering-Inspection Department for the City of Topeka, retiring after 31 years in 1994. You may have had the Sunday newspaper thrown to you from the early 60's to 1985. In his 'off hours' Frank put up hay for himself and many others along with hauling tons of sawdust to horse ranches up until 2016.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Carolyn; seven children: John (Phyllis) Webb, Don (Sandy) Webb, Ron (Theresa) Webb, Debbie (Greg) Stadler, Rita (Larry) Berry, Pam (Wade) Handley and Jim W (Wendy) Corpening; three step-children: Jean Cody, Barbara (Bennie) Reed and Phillip (Roxanne) Cody; 31 grandchildren and 68 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Michelle Stadler and Ridge Read and three great-grandchilden, Jeffery Hedrick, Andrea Briggs and Shelby Vines.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka.
The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 7:30pm Friday at the funeral home.
